Switching NC's evade

Sry, I'm re-learning the game after an 8 month break. Could someone explain to me how to switch Nightcrawler's evade to swashbuckling?

You'll see a timer on Nightcrawler when he dashes back and holds block, you need to hit him while he blocks until the timer expires, that's when he switches modes.

Of course, if he evades whilst you're trying to do this, it won't work. But best of luck, anyway - it really is the best strategy if you can make it work.

Or if you're unlucky and the timer just disappears even though he didn't evade or stop blocking, something Kabam supposedly "fixed". But yeah, attacking him while he's blocking is the only way to do it.
