FACE ME not working against Close Encounter

So far in act 6 Gulk's FACE ME mechanic has worked against all the the passive degens on the other maps. Why does it not work for Close Encounters in 6.1.4?

Am I missing something?

    Because it's not a passive debuff. Same as with bane etc. I suggest Quake for that quest as she is always close to her opponent

    It is the third category. Neither a debuff or a passive damage over time ability.

    The intention of the node is to change your playstyle. They don't want counters for it besides that.
    Same thing as life transfer, flare, etc.

    So why mister will-o-wisp who posts and answers everything all day on these forums, do the other quests, which are designed to make your play style different, trigger face me?

    Also, it is definitely damage over time. Says so in the description.

    There are exceptions that are classified as passive damage over time effects, and so they trigger face me ability.
    This one on the 6.1.4 is just damage over time. Not a debuff or passive. You simply take damage. It's a third category that was already confirmed by the MOD's, desgined to be countered by playstyle and not by champion abilities.
    Same thing with flare and life transfer.

    I have actually found places where people have specifically said that their Gulk triggered face me on 6.1.4. In the "tips and tricks for act 6" thus telling me this really is a bug.

    Kabam, if you read this I am on a Samsung Note 8.

    Hey there, I found the answer to your question. This Degeneration from the node is not counted as a passive or active effect, and so wouldn't be altered by any abilities that interact with those types of effects. It can encourage some more aggressive play in a fight but, it can also be re-rolled away via the randomizers that have been made available for M.O.D.O.K.'s Lab. Hope this helps your strategizing in the Labs!

    That is for something like MODOKs lab, where it can be re rolled. Also, trying to be polite to Kabam here, but by definition something can either be passive or active. What is this third magical realm of buffs that exists in another plane? Sounds like they are making excuses for shoddy programming and not wanting to fix a blatant bug.
