Pause didn't stop fight

So here is the scenario fighting a Kang/Thanos team in 4* featured arena using Mordo against Spider-Man unduped. I was fighting then mid fight so I did not lose and because I had to I pushed pause but here is the kicker the pause menu came up and spider man just kicked the **** out of my Mordo fight not paused as it should have been.

Not sure if this was a super random glitch or bug but probably one of the lamest yet funniest ways I have had to lose an arena fight
