Venom the duck's toxic armor vs Classic Ultron boss in 2.2 of this months event quest

in Bugs and Known Issues
Am i missing something that makes him immune to toxic armor? after i hit him with a sp2 his armor stacks went from 4 to 6 but stayed as normal armor and i did no additional damage ......
