For some reason when ebony uses a heavy attack I dodge and go in to punish it but he just goes a special attack and I eat it face first

Anybody else??

    You're waiting too long to punish. This is similar to punishing Hood's SP1, you can't wait for the full animation before attacking. You need to dash just before the rock shatters so it breaks right in front of you and you're attacking through the rock cloud.

    I attack almost when the rock shatters the attacks like "misses" but doesnt actually miss just goes straight through him and the I eat a special attacks

    He has other mechanics that contribute to misses as well. When you have 20 (or any multiple of 20) Persuasion charges he inflicts "Falter" and has guaranteed misses for 3 seconds.
