I've spent real money in the past not hundreds of pounds maybe about £180 but none since update 12.0. I've done most of the boss rush challenges, I've fully explored acts 1-5. completed a single run through 6.1 and done rol, rttl, almost finished with variant 2 but the games not got the same draw for me it used to have. It's just not as fun or exciting as it used to be. So I should have put blend of both and average Joe fixit 😂
I may be hyping myself up too much, but I went with experienced because I think the majority of people in the game are behind me in what I'll do. (I figure there are a lot of casual players and I play too often to call myself casual.)
I finish Uncollected EQ monthly with out needing too many items to do so (more on Thanos this month, but I ended up finding him frustrating, but not terrible). Finished all of Act 5 and just haven't gotten around to Cavalier just given time, champ availability. Maybe that's the majority of people and I'm an Average Joe - I'm certainly no end game master. I dunno.
As for spending, I have been playing for almost 4 years and spent I think $51 - gifting badge bundle (30), $10 for units for a poorly planned Collect run years back, $1 on the players choice 4*, $5 on the most recent unit card offer, and I think there's an unaccounted $5 I don't recall.

You're coming off like you're trying to vilify spending.
Doesn't help that you self-identified as the "purest" type of player.
In a world
Where people don’t understand each other’s spending preferences
And feel like arguing about it...
