War and AQ Timer Starts Too Soon

The timer ticks down as the two fighters run towards each other. By the time you actually start the fight, 3 seconds have gone by. Is this meant to be?

While I am on the topic of time, this is probably a known issue by now, the fights timeout in the middle of a special 3. Is it working as intended?
