Vtd and AQ

Hi,
A week go on my first fight in AQ with VTD not a single buff was stored when using s1 or heavy attack. Thought I was dreaming or some kind of weird bug.
Again today, first fight with VTD and buff would disappear on S1 or heavy but not get stored.
Am I missing a node or hero ability that could prevent me from storing buffs with VTD?
