Fighting The Thing (epic) - last stand: save the battlerealm

It is totally unfair when fighting The thing in Epic level of "last stand". I have clear every other path of epic level but just cant get through path C when it comes to The Thing. It ia totally unjustifiable if it requires only certain heroes, ie Captain America to defeat him. How about those players who do not own CA or certain heroes? Come on! Be fair to us players.
