Becoming Uncollected

I've finished act 4 at the end of May, and now I've set my sights on beating the Collector. What are some tips/champions that will help me get there? I'm still in chapter 1 of act 5, just finished the first quest.

Hate to give such a general response but for the collector, I just brought my heavy hitters and did as much damage as I could before his specials/bane killed me.
