The best rewards from AW Seasons are the drama and trolling we get in high prestige line chats. Regarding in-game rewards:
- Top 5 AQ gives 8K T5BC fragments and a full T2AC per cycle - Top 10 AQ gives 6K T5BC fragments and 30K T2AC fragments per cycle - Top 20 AQ gives 5K T5BC fragments and 25K T2AC fragments per cycle
IMO 20K-32K T5BC fragments and 3-4 T2ACs for a month of 7X5 with minimal item use and low stress is the better investment compared to the super skilled boosting/spending and high stress/toxic interactions that describe most alliances who go all out in war.
My outlook is that Season Rewards are additive. Before they existed, we ran Wars for the Win/Loss Rewards. Anything we make on top of that is extra.
When war first came out the hero shards were important. It's also the main source of glory. But your statement is more absurd than usual. Kabam designed it to be the most competitive game mode with the most lucrative rewards. They are outdated now, and the crystals suck, but you are still getting t5 basics, T2 alphas, and 6* shards. You view this as an extra bonus? The win/loss rewards are almost worthless. I think your outlook needs rethinking...

It's easy to say that with the comparison of Seasons Rewards and where the game is at now. However, my statement was referencing how Wars used to be. You just fought for the Win/Loss Rewards. Before they existed, that's all there was. Without Seasons, that's all you'd be getting, and they would have seemed much less outdated because after 9 Seasons, people have grown enough to call them outdated. Clearly they're still adding to progress.
Yes; the rewards at the end of the season are well worth the effort.
In fact, it was much less rewarding because if you lost, you received much less. You were solely playing for the Wins. In the current system, you can lose and still amass Points for Season Rewards later. All you got before was the Loss consolation.

That’s not even including glory purchases or crystals reward difference is insane
There are two sides to it. I think gold 1 is the sweet spot. But when you have an alliance dead set on pushing for platinum the push is what the rewards not worth it. If you just play the wars and land where you land it’s cool and worth it. Then problem with the new system is you don’t want to be that person who holds everyone up cuz you died so there is added pressure

Only one alliance mode quest with more rewards but only run 3 times a week.
