Thing vs Electro

A few months ago during the Deadpool boss rush event there was the super armor node that provided shock vulnerability. If I remember correctly, letting that Deadpool attack into Electro would proc a “My only weakness” callout (which appears when you deal shock damage), because Electro’s damage back was presumably shock based (though his abilities only say energy/class based). When I was fighting Electro with Thing yesterday, Thing was taking damage back from Static Shock, even though Thing has Shock immunity. Is this an intended interaction or not? Does Electro’s damage back deal shock or just energy damage? The boss rush nodes weren’t written super clear, so am I just misunderstanding Super Armor?

"xxx Immune" essentially translates to: "You cannot gain a debuff of type xxx"
it's also why Incinerate immune champs take dmg from Mephisto's "aura of Incinerate" . (because it's not a debuff)
That Deadpool in the bosh rush was vulnerable to direct damage in general, not only shock.
For Thing, he is immune to shock. He is not immune to energy damage, which is what Static Shock causes. Electro deals 0 shock damage, and has no way to deal one yet. He may will be able to apply a shock debuff with a future synergy, but that's it.
