Rouge officers

I have a alliance that I built, I did all the recruiting and keep the alliance going, got some really great members and over a span of time they became good friends with me, so I thought. So one day I made them a officer...everything was great till one day I log in and notice half my team left along with my trusted officer....come to find out he started a alliance and stole my members that I recruited. Now my alliance is on life support because a rouge officer help himself to members he knew over time. There should be some way this can be stopped in alliances, it took over a year of hard work to build and in a blink of a eye it was almost gone. Sad thing is they never said anything or give any indication of problem. Thought all was well, I was sadly mistaken. Just don't want this to happen to someone else if possible.

Unfortunately, no way to prevent this from happening.

If you can do it once. You can surely build a great alliance again. All the best!

Clearly an officer partial to a bit of blush and a hint of eyeliner too, most likely.

There is no way this can be stopped unless you expect MCOC to develop psychic powers and be able to read people's minds and stop them before they can do it. You are also expecting people to not leave on their own, trapping them like they were your prisoners.

Your story had happened to other alliances so it isn't unique. In fact, one of my old alliances had their facebook page stolen by a rogue officer. I was invited to join but since I knew that officer had lied in the forums, I had eventually decided to go in another direction. I went to an alliance that eventually became top 25 at one point, just for a taste of the "good life" only to find out that there are more bad officers around. One of those officers even kicked all the members of the alliance, leaving only other officers and leaders (since he couldn't kicked them).

As for the old alliance that had its members "stolen", it was still around a year later and now its about 2 years since the coup and has 30 members.

If they were happy with your leadership they would not have left. Learn from this and start again.

    "Stole your members"

There is your first problem. You do not own anyone and they are free to go at anytime. Treat them as such and you may have better luck.
