Overkill shards

I am sure somebody thought of this before me, but here goes.
When you have your opponent hanging on the ropes with, say, a 100 hitpoints left. Then you get a critical hit with, say, 3500 damage.
The 3400 damage just disappears somewhere.

What if those hitpoints gave you shards for an overkill crystal? For example 34 shards for 3400 damage.
Then you could save up 2000 shards, and get, for example a 2* champion, with a slight possibility for a 3-5 star special champ. Ala Punisher, Unstoppable Colossus or White Iron Fist? Maybe Overkill/Taserface or Overkill (O-Force)?

    It'd have to be a lot of shards for the crystal. In your example that hit earned almost 1.75 crystals it would make crystals and progression go much quicker. Either 34 shards for the 3.4k or greatly increase the crystal cost. Otherwise good idea.

    I think you misunderstood me, or I wrote something wrong. :D
    3400 gives 34 shards in my example. So I would have to fight a lot of fights to reach 2000 shards.

    There should maybe be a cap, or rules here, so that you cant farm using a 6* against 1* opponents?
