Timouts in Alliance war

I found out today that timeouts doesnt count towards defender kills in aw. I am fairly certain that they did before (correct me if im wrong)
SInce this is the case i have a very serious question
If timouts dont count towords defender kills can i just pause the game during something like a boss fight because im losing and only lose half of my HP and someone else can go in and fight instead without the kill counting and thus be able to repeat this until someone gets the boss down without dying?

The count, they aren’t classed as a defender kill but you lose a bonus for it
