Has parrying changed?

Haven't played this game in over a year, however when I came back to it, I'm having an extremely difficult time parrying (specifically dash/medium attacks). Used to be insanely good at it but now it feels as though the timing has changed compared to like a year ago. Parrying light attacks is easy but I almost always fail at parry dash attacks due to the slightly longer attack animations. Has it always been like this and am I just remembering it wrong? Or has parrying changed over the last year?

I also recently returned after a layoff and have found it slightly more difficult, but more likely you just need to get your timing back.

I have, however, noticed it is MUCH easier to get a parry in mid-combo (after blocking the first hit or two).
