Do you think the main youtubers offer help/ make videos in our best interest or simply look out for #1??

Yeah you don’t agree with someone's opinion, welcome to society.
1. There are times when it's nice to hear what they think on certain topics, whether it be how to beat content/play a certain champ, what they think of the new things that have happened, or whatever. It's really nice to hear other peoples' opinions on things most of the time.
2. It's nice seeing how wide a variety of people play this game.
So yeah I think, at the least, youtubers and content creators STRIVE to be constructive. Whether their advice is helpful to each and every person is another thing altogether.
I began posting videos in August 2015, i posted World Of Tanks, World of Warship and MCOC vids + "Comedy" Vids. I had no intention to have a career from Youtube as i was already a Manager with a Business Degree. The job was paid well , there was good job security, but i disliked it.
If you know me then you will be aware i post videos that are; information/newsy, comic book history, opinion, crystal openings and from time to time guides.
When i would go to work i used to look forward to coming home making a video and doing a live stream. At times i would work to 4am on a video knowing i would been in work 4 hours later, because i wanted to post the video for people to see. At that time me and my girlfriend bought our first home and lets just say Youtube was a big issue in our relationship. Which i think is one of the reasons Joel Line had to leave the game/youtube.
Anyway, Flash forward 4 years and now this is my full time job where it isn't paid as well, there is no job security and people can just stop watching ending 'ones' career , but i absolutely love it.
I do make money from Youtube, some months its good, some its bad. I pay my taxes , i pay bills. its just a very weird, scary but, fun career. If it ends tomorrow i would go back to working in management and occasionally post vids. i want to end by saying the real reason i wanted to do Youtube in the first place is to make people laugh. Some people get my humour and some dont, but if i can make atleast one person laugh and change their bad mood into a happy mood, then ive done something right.
I watch gameplay vids when I land new champs and it helps doing new quests (Variant, Act 5/6 and monthly) to see more about the paths and what champs worked well beforehand. I like when they grade the offers and watch the news about changes or updates. Saves me a ton of time and units plus I’m more informed.
It’s fine to have an opinion, it’s doesn’t make it correct or even remotely relevant.
I myself make the final decision and I am always open to hearing what valid information is out there.
Watch what ya want man but that's funny.
On top of that, there are times I pull a champ and I’m like “the hell am I supposed to do with this!?”....then I’ll load up YouTube...type on “Seatin (and whatever champs name)”....and he’s got some tutorial.
On top of THAT...I had not one clue about the Summoners Sigil’s benefits until he broke it down in a way I could process it and realize it might benefit me.
On. Top. Of. That.....I like watching his crystal openings because he always gives a quick suggestion on the champs he pulls if they are less than desirable.
For what it’s worth, on the the flip side....my guy dorky diggity Dave got me intercepting and baiting out specials and also gives decent quick blurbs when he pulls not so desirable champs.
As much hate as the homie Prof Hoff gets, he’s helped me save a couple dollars when I thought “hey let me just hit this purchase button,” then he breaks down how there might be better deals.
I could go on and on...but all I’ll say is for me YouTube is my number one source for saving my sanity, saving my butt, saving my money, or making educated rank up choices. Despite whatever additional motives, it’s insight...FREE insight.
I used YT to beat the collector and then get Cavalier and beat other game content.
Sure some of the YT videos aren't for me but, you choose what you click on or close
@RichTheMan you're doing good work mate, keep it up!
Watching youtubers is like buying a strategy guide when you buy a new game. Why play the game if you going to follow a book.
80% of the times the youtubers are wrong.
Seatin, RichtheMan, Dorklessons are all spot on.
Lagacy, iLacSkills and ProffHoff have their value as well.
A lot of others are spot on, I’ll check out mcoc vids that pop up on my feed that seem interesting or fruitful to me.
No one would watch the vids if anyone would feel they are being helped.
Seatin does video after video with champs he wouldn’t really use, just to showcase their in game abilities and performance against high level oppornents.
Obviously he is looking out for himself as it’s his job, but he is clearly making his audience Happy meaning we still watch.
