"Versus Synergy" Idea

Tried searching for this, but wasn't really sure the exact phrasing. Was recently talking about the Cyclops v. Havok power immunity with my Alliance, and it reminded me of a thought I had that could potentially add a lot of utility for underused (aka "Meme Tier") champs:
How about a type of "synergy" based on which champs are fighting? I.e., Wolverine v. Sabertooth - Wolverine could get a Heimdall-type Unstoppable/Indestructible when he gets down to 1% health, while Sabertooth could stack Furies along with his Regen charges (just ideas based on the fights they have in the comics). Or "Lover's Spat" kind of things between Cyclops and Phoenix/Gambit and Rogue/GG and Gwenpool (I know that one is a stretch). "Rivals" with Cyclops and Wolverine/Iron Man and Capt. America/Falcon and Winter Soldier/Torch and Thing.
Could be an easy way to reinvigorate a lot of these champs for specific content/fights without having to completely re-work them. And could really add a lot of fun to random arena encounters. Thoughts?
