Why 2 class catalysts?

Something that really bothers me and I think it should change is the stupid need of catalysts from 2 different classes for some champions.

And the champions that require it aren’t even good! I mean... why does Karnak need a cosmic catalyst if he’s a Skill champion? And why does Unstoppable Colossus need a mutant catalyst if he’s a mystic champion? IT MAKES NO SENSE

    plus he’s has the x gene
    So does Magik, Juggernaut and Phoenix, and they are pretty fine needing catalysts from just one class
