New Player Help

Hi all,

I've been playing for a little more than a week but feel like I must be doing something wrong. I've got six three star characters amd one four-star, but they are all stuck at the rank up point. I can't figure out an efficient way to farm catalyst shards and I'm sitting on a ton of mats that I can't use. I've read everywhere not to waste my Iso8 on my 2-star characters, so I've got my inventory full of it and loads of it that i can't even pull into my inventory. Even if I do manage to rank up a 3-star character, I'll instantly level him to the next rank up point and be in the same position. What am I missing here? Thanks!

If you're starting out, I would say Rank your 2*s. The Arena will be your friend.

Rank what you think is the best of each Class. Work on one of each first. Then work your way up with that. You get ISO from Quests and Dups so get as many Champs as you can. Each day has a different Class in Proving Grounds. Monday Mutant, Tuesday Skill, Wednesday Science, Thursday Mystic, Friday Cosmic, Saturday Tech, Sunday Free-For-All. Just keep at it and you will start to progress.

Is it worth doing multiple runs each day through Proving Grounds at every difficulty level i can manage? Should i do full completes of the Proving Grounds maps? Thx for the advice.

Full complete for sure. The Cats are random drops so the higher ones might not drop the first time, so you can do multiple tries for a chance for them to drop.

The higher the Cat (Tier 1, 2, 3, etc.), the more rare the drop.

i play daily t3b &t2c cats quest everyday, i get avarage 2 t3b from full exploration of proving grounds...

Thanks for your help. I'll grind these every day. Any links to decent guides would be appreciated. A lot of them on the web seem to be out of date. I searched "guide" here, but I come up with every thread that has the word "guide" in it, so it's not super helpful. Here are some things I'm trying to figure out:

• Tasks I should be doing to contribute to my Alliance
  
• How to best distribute my Mastery points (I've got two in Parry and Dexterity (and one in Limber), but that's it
  
• Overview of Arena goals and strategy

For mastery help, check Seatin's Free to Play Mastery setup video on YouTube. Not sure if you plan to spend, but even if you do, it's a good starter mastery setup. You can reset it later as you've progressed more in the game.
