Nick fury evade synergy doesn't work?

So the nick fury synergy with quake and ant man doesn't always seem to work.

Usually, when I dash back too early and the ai dashes in, then the synergy fails to activate for the 1st hit received, and then activates.
Also, the synergy doesn't seem to work when I mistime a dex on specials from cyclops and yellow jacket, causing me to get hit by the last part of the beam, instead of evading.
Has anyone else noticed this?

I think the evade only triggers when you aren’t in a dash back animation, not saying that’s how it should work but I think it’s how it is working now
