    Aegon is the undisputed MVP of LoL now. Use either Proxima or Star Lord for synergy to get his Combo protection in case you screw up.

    Before Aegon it was Star Lord thanks to his ability to ramp up damage. Brian Grant did an initial run with Gwenpool; Dork Lessons used Captain Marvel (not Sparkles), Joel Line used Magik (NOT recommended vs Maestro) - but they were all 2-3 years ago.

    I believe Proxima still has a solid track record in LoL, once you get all 4 of her missions done you'll be doing 800% damage on her specials for the rest of the fight (I think that's how they add up)
