Mephisto not stopping fury buffs with soul imprisonment active

In an arena, I recently fought both og Thor and og Hulk with Mephisto. For some reason, they are able to activate furies with soul imprisonment active. I understand that activating SI will not cancel a fury. It was definitely already on.
