How come our ally, who has not ran a war yet since season ended, have went from tier 5 to tier 6?? Can someone explain this?

    There was an issue where it wasn't locked for the first War.

    Your tier is relative to the number of alliances who participate in AW.

    Say week one 100 alliances participate and the top 10% are tier one. This means 10 alliances are tier one, that week.

    Next week 80 alliances participate and again the top 10% are tier one. This means 8 alliances are tier one, that week. If 9 or 10 didn't participate either week they moved down a tier without playing a war.

    It wasn't for the first War. They switched it mid-second. Likely when they got the fix pushed.

    Nope. War rating did not change after the first war.

    Hmm.....I remember someone reporting that it wasn't locked.
    They did. But either it was a visual bug or Kabam fixed it in time. Our opponents decided to tank since the war rating wasn't frozen. They even got snarky on the War chat when someone asked them why they were tanking with frozen war ratings (not knowing that it wasn't frozen). But the war ratings did not change. We got free shards and they failed to lower their war rating lol.

    Maybe you were on the bubble and there are more alliances playing around that level? Possibly people jumped to shells. But why not run wars with no item use? Shards and loyalty.
