Nightcrawler's funny interactions

Now that the "Nightcrawler switch trick" no longer exists, I'm wondering how I could successfully switch his modality, because i noticed right now that there are a lot of variabiles to consider:
-When attacked, he has 22% chance to Evade, plus a 15% chance if the hit is Phsysical...
OK, I should simply HOPE that he doesn't evade during my hits to have success.
BUT
sometimes the timer disappears! So even if i hit him those 4 times, he won't change mode.
OK, I only have to hit him and hope that:
- he doesn't evade (AND obviously he should not have his Evade Buff, that would be harder to handle)
- his timer doesn't appear
Nice, I'll try.... it doesn't look so easy, but not too hard
BUT
If he has a Special 1 or special2, he can throw it while blocking yout hits.... I don't mean that he evades my hits and throws special... i mean that he CAN (I don't know why) launch special between a hit and another:
For example, i was using Killmonger with True Strike, so night only had to Block and could not evade.
OK, I only have to consider this too... sounds a bit hard... let's recap what I have to do:
Hitting his block and hoping that:
- he doesn't evade (AND no Evade Buff)
- his timer doesn't disappear
- he is under 1 bar of power
It sounds a bit hard... I start thinking that I may need a counter to Evasion.
However, let's try this! I think I can do it
BUT
sometimes he can HIT you one instant after you hit his block.. it happens! He (like almost everyone) can "intercept" like ghost, because now the AI is super fast: a little delay between my hits allows the opponent to punish me.
Obviously, you will say "hey, why did you delayed your hits? Don't do it and the problem is solved"..... if i have to deal with an unduped Nightcrawler, a good strategy could be hitting with a bit of delay (IMO). Anyway, this issue happens even if i'm "fast" at hitting the block, so maybe is due to lag.
Conclusions
Without a Counter for Nightcrawler, it's easier to take a 6* from a cavalier than taking 0 hits from a Stun immune Nighcrawler
