Spidey in Variant 1.3.2 evaded Venom

I was fighting classic Spidey with Venom in Variant 1 chapter 3.2 and he evaded me !? How is that possible since he is a spider verse champ?

Is this an issue or am I missing something here?

    What were the nodes? Spiderverse heroes can evade if you don't have your black Klyntar buff.

    Sure thing! The pilfer node stole the Klyntar buff. He can't counter evade without it.
