Is this from the bug or is it something seperate?

I am trying to run arenas since they got the game up somewhat and noticed the cost went from gold to units. I have plenty of gold, so it isnt that. And I have closed and restarted the game many times. I'm not spending what few units I have remaining to fight a gold cost fight I have the gold to cover.
