Special 3 - no more pushing back the opponent to the other end

Is this a bug or has the game been silently changed? I don't use 3 that often anymore but I have noticed that the opponent is no more pushed back to the other end after a special 3. This used to be helpful when you were stuck at a corner with full bar, and using special 3 would give you some space. However, now you are stuck at the same position unable to do much (especially if you are cornered).

    I like to parry right before using a special 3 attack so that once the special is over with, I can follow up with a couple more hits because the opponent is stunned, but now he's so far away that by the time I reach him, the stun is over with.

    It's all these little incremental changes that piss me off.
