Emma Frost interaction with Special 3 attacks

In Emma frosts signature ability, it states that if she would take over a certain amount of damage, she instead switches to diamond form and takes reduced damage. Twice in alliance quest this week I have ended up having to eat a couple of sp3s while using her and they’re dealing way more damage than the cap stated in her signature ability.
