Crystals problems

Hi, I am having a real problem with crystals at the moment. I have opened around 50 and have only got one 3 star mediocre champion. I am wondering if you could give me a nudge in the right direction. My friends are pregressing around me and I'm not.

    grind arena, grind quests....grind grind grind! hours upon hours of grind time...

    its all luck of the draw. you will see a lot of players mention "RNG" (random numbers generator). daily crystals and PHCs will drop 2 star champs most of the time. 50 of either isnt a lot considering soke players open hundreds of them with out seeing anything over a 2 star.
