5* Mister Sinister

AssumedNameAssumedName Member Posts: 583 ★★★
I recently got a 5* mister sinister after V4 exploration. The main question is whether he is worth a mutant awakening gem (I have 3). The secondary question is whether I should r3 or potentially r4 him. I think he’s a pretty good champ, and I like him in the comics, but I want to see what other people think. I also have no better mutants at the moment.

Read his abilities.. I have him as 4/55 sig180 and he is pretty good champion.. wish his attack was higher base stats.. read his abilities and you will realize his potential.. can block unblockable specials.. not affected by reverse control, sp1 can reflects degen as well as (bleed, shock, coldsnap) back to opponent.

I know what his abilities are. I was more wondering how useful he is to people. So, is he worth the awakening gem and ranking up?

It depends.. I used my mutant awakening gem on him over Havok, Omega red, iceman.. later I pull mr sinister quite a few times.. sort of annoying when that happens.. but no regrets.. he can be a final boss or minor war boss, in regen boost nodes his regen ability makes it even more annoying.. if I get another mutant awakening gem, I’d probably use it on omega Red next.. Havok, mr sinister + wasp or Modok or Ultron, make a good AQ attack team

I have him at R3/45, and I think he has a good, underrated kit. I debated if I would drop a Mutant gem on him because that makes him pretty freaking tough after a few fights

See, in your case, if he's the best Mutant you have, you aren't in a bad spot. He's a good character

If you only had one Awakening gem, I would advise maybe holding it to see if a Namor or Sunspot came along, maybe an Iceman

But since you have three, I would use it without hesitation, especially if you like using him. I truly feel that he is easy to play, has good utility and absolutely can be an attacker with good production

Appreciate the feedback. I also think his immunity to reversed controls and the fact he can block unblockable special attacks is very unique utility, and very few champs can do stuff like that. I’ll probably awaken him, put sig stones in and then r3 him. If I like him enough then I may even r4 him.

Glad to hear it. This is just my opinion and some totally disagree, but I think this game needs more people to be more willing to rank up characters that not everyone else would and try to maximize the ones with underrated kits

Sinister doesn't have a bad kit at all. Just because it isn't one of the top 10 kits in the game doesn't mean it isn't a strong kit

If u arent sure u will take a champ to rank 4 at least i wouldn't use a gem on him. I would only use an awakening gem on champs going to at least rank 4 or higher.

If you want to use him a lot, awaken the man! I pulled one last week and used an awakening gem and sig stones on him. He’s a monster. First fight or 2 is a little rough, but once he gets a cosmic and/or skill kill, you see the damage start to ramp up quick. I took him to R4 because I loved him so much.

I wouldn’t awaken him, he’s just not a good enough champ for it imo, especially considering he’s got omega archangel namor etc to content for for the gem, wait for a better champ

He may come in handy for the Grandmaster 6.4 Boss, since he can block unblockable specials, good luck and I hope you have fun with him.

He has 3 gems and it could be another year before he pulls a top mutant champ.

Yeah, also I’m pretty sure grandmaster has a inverted controls mechanic, so he could actually be decent for that aswell.

Exactly. Plus, as you say I’ll still have 2 more, so it’s not a huge dilemma even if I get some god tier mutants in the next week. Besides if your r4 sinister is fun and useful for you, then I may as well.
