Question About The Exploit

PLEASE PROVIDE AN ANWSER, AND PLEASE JUST DONT DELETE THE POST.
So the reward exploit. With the exploration alliance and solo event. Where we have to run heroic over and over to get points for the event. If this was during the "bug" alot more people would get the ban. We all have to rerun events that we already played for the rewards. So why is there a ban issued for farming rewards? We all farm rewards, revives, iso, potions. Just in these guys case the rewards were worth it for once. This is a true question, please do not close this. Why is farming different than what they did?
In my opinon, if it was a mess up on Kabams part, players shouldnt be punished. The accountability should be on you developers and your testing team.
Again we run quests over and over with no fun involved to farm cataylst, potions, revives.
Not to mention endless boring arena for battlechips to get gold.
I really think that decision was harsh, because to be honest people saw rewards and just farmed them.

1. The rewards weren't available to everyone.
2. The effort spent versus rewards given weren't balanced
Abusing exploits is a practice prohibited across a variety of games, and it is completely unfair to the population of Summoners that did not take advantage of this. Policies like this are in place to prevent and discourage Summoners from taking advantage of exploits, and to report them to us instead. This exploit was so extreme that the rewards obtained through it would have fully stacked the balance of power against others. In some cases it amounted to Summoners obtaining two years worth of content in a matter of 24 hours.
Summoners are not entitled to keep ill-gotten rewards they should have never received in the first place, and an error or bug in the game does not mean that we'll look the other way because we created it. The impact this has on The Contest is far too extreme for that.
As for the bans, only a small portion of folks received a ban - 7% of those that even used this exploit at all. Folks that cannot say with *any* legitimacy that they did not know exactly what they were doing. Someone used the exploit over 200 times. The use of exploits is also again against our Terms of Service - which you have to adhere to if you are going to play The Contest. We've commented on this topic several times, and don't have anything further to add so we'll be locking this one down.
