Dr. Voodoo visual change?

Recently, I’ve been seeing the Dr. Voodoo has been gaining a new “passive” during fights when he blocks, but I can’t find any information on what it is or what it does. It only shows up when he blocks, and goes away when hit or he stops blocking. Didn’t know if I’ve missed some update to him, or just utility that I don’t understand. It looks like a block proficiency/energy resist/debuff immune passive but I have not a single idea what it is.

    It's his energy resistance or something Ike that
    The effect had always been there while blocking, but this update made it visible

    Voodoo has increased energy resistance while blocking, seems like they've decided to show it with icon in latest patch
