VARIANT Quests DON'T Score in Completion AEvents???

Has Kabam expained or does anyone know why Variant Quests don't score in 1&3 Day Completion Solo & AEvents? They are found in the "Event Quest" Tab unlike "Special" LOL, ROL, RTTL & Abyss which don't score. Even "Daily" Class/Basic Catalysts Quests score??? Seems like Variants should be worth some pts.

    Variants weren't out when the event was created and it hasn't been updated.
