Sunspot awaken or unawakened

I've heard he looses burst damage when awakened but not sure how or why, I have at r3 like thinking about r4 and I have a gem gaining dust.....

    Why would a champ lose anything when awakened that sounds like a horrible marketing strategy

    He doesn't lose anything though he doesn't gain much either he starts with more solar charges and gains some bonuses to certain synergies nothing major. if you really like him why not. Namor, OR and AA are the main mutants that need awakening so prioritize them

    I have as but feel he is falling out of the meta. But I enjoy sunspot just trying to find if this info is accurate

    @Smokieisgod i have a 5 and 6* sunspot. How is he falling out of the meta? He absolutely dominates act 5 and act 6. He practically ends fights extremely quickly in every act 6 matchup after getting 3 flare state. His dupe makes him even better since more solar charges allows him to build more flare state
