Beast sp2 doesn't work sometimes

If you do his first chain combo M L L L M successfully and combo it into his sp2 attack then his sp2 chain combo doesn't work. When you block it doesn't trigger a heal.

It's a known bug. It might get fixed next patch, but I doubt it

Blocking doesn't trigger healing. The first m attack right after a block triggers it. An m attack without a block before it doesn't trigger the healing and causes the combo timer to reset. Hope this clarifies the issue.
