What’s the point of duplicate champs other than wasting time ?

Capt marvel classic / ms marvel
Both magnetos ( minus the aar % difference)
Both daredevils ?
Og cap America and ww2 also have very minor differences not enough to justify a separate champ alltogether , considering how diverse and unique any champ should be
What I can think right now , maybe there are more !
I mean they are exactly the same with different skins ? Why did kabam Do this other than to cause pain to the player base , slow progression and serve major agony if you pull a 6* version ?
The same crystals that pull us these meaningless champs and then dupe them could be used to pull something more meaningful?
