Losing connection when switching apps.

So I've noticed recently that upon switching apps my game will always disconnect and send me back to the main menu. Usually not a big deal but when in the middle of a fight if I get a phone call or pause it to answer a text line app msg etc. The game times out within like 30 seconds to a minute and I lose half health for timing out. Just curious if anybody else has these kinds of issues? Very frustrating not being able to pause a boss fight to take a phone call because it will result in a time out and loss of atleast half health.

This is on an IPhone 6s. Just looking to confirm if this is just me, the phone or something that's been only happening recently.
