People quitting incursions early stages

There’s been multiple times I’ve joined incursions and my partner has left before even getting to stage 2. This seems completely unfair as now I have completely wasted my good champions and have to wait 4 days to use them again. Can something be implemented to avoid this? Such as if the person quits in the first 3 stages we can use our champs to run both sides? It just seems completely unfair when this happens.

Random Incursions do not seem like a great idea, although I got mistakenly lucky with it the other day. I was actually entering to play with a friend, but I clicked the wrong button -- Find a Partner, and suddenly an Incursion started with a random player. I was bummed because I messed up the plan with my friend, but decided to go thru with it so as not to mess this random player up by quitting out. I was kinda worried this player would be really above me skill-wise and that I might disappoint him with my scrubbiess, but we were pretty even and made it thru five zones I think. We both bottomed out on the same zone, at least.

They shouldn't make a game more strictly focused on "alliance mates" because multiple people in my alliance wont run more now because their champs are on cool down for 4 days...

If someone quits we deserve to use our champs again it's ridiculous and the cool down time is a joke too.

Why make a game mode that is to be played with friends but almost impossible to play with your friends when you want.
