I’ve had a realization

So Kabam said this month would be the month for smaller champions as opposed to the big names that everyone knows.

I’ve been curious as to why they chose to go this route this year, as opposed to any other year. I have two ideas:

One: Because of who they introduced last year. They had the Fantastic Four, Annihilus, Diablo, Sliver Surfer, Namor, and Doom. Not to mention the big MCU names they also introduced. Now, Kabam is stepping away from the big names and introducing some smaller characters.

Two: The MCU. As you know, every month there’s a Marvel movie (or there’s supposed be) Kabam releases two tie-in champs. They do this for Every. Single. Movie. This is fine when Marvel releases two to three films a year, and those movies can give them some champs on the lower end of the spectrum.

The problem arises in the next few years of MCU films. 2022 has 5 films scheduled. Five. That’s ten out of 24 champs devoted to MCU films, and some of those are going to be big names.

So that’s why they’re doing smaller characters this year.

I know that, but they said that their main focus was smaller characters, with some exceptions.

I mean there's only so many "big names" they can do anyway. I feel like there's a good mix of well knowns vs lesser known champs each year.
