What is the purpose?
I think overall Nick would be best as he is great for act 5+6, can take on LoL, handles UC EQ nicely and really doesnt need a high sig level. (Plus he has awesome synergies!)
Ægon is better for AoL and longer quests, can be used for act 5/6 but unless you're using him for every fight you wont reach his full potential. Also he needs a high sig level.
Blade would be another one if you needed a regen champ, he can save you lots of potions and therefore units but is not as relevant today as he was a year or two ago.

If you have a bunch of sig stones and want to do LOL/AOL, go aegon.
If you only have a couple stones and want a general questing champ, then nick

Ægon has a skillset that no other champ has. He's great for the hardest content in the game. But you need a lot of sig stones.
