Trail by Fire III not working as intended?

I’m doing Modoks Island. Skill path. Done it a number of times before. Brought Iceman and Colossus to counter caltrops/biohazard/trial by fire ( common on that path). However this time instead of taking no damage, I took a chunk of direct damage each time the timer ran down. 10 - 15% each time. Am I missing something?

    You would need Mephisto or Red Hulk for Masacre+TbF3. Or just reroll until it’s gone.
