Last war of the season going for plat 4 we get matched up with an alliance 8 million more than us full of rank 2 and 3 defenders. Bravo kabam nail in the coffin for us doing war anymore freaking embarrassing what you guys have done to war

Since war rating was the same you had an 100% fair match. If you want to claim rewards from this AW tier you need to be able to go against ANY ally that competes for the same rewards. Why you want “special” treatment for your matches? Aren’t you after the same rewards as this 38mil ally? Fight them and prove you worth these over them.

It isn't just war rating. I think it's the most similar prestige and/or alliance rating that can be found with a generally similar war rating.

Yup. But I noticed that we were getting similar war ratings overall. Much better matchups, for sure, compared to the past few seasons.

It’s not perfect yet, but eventually getting there.

The day it’s perfect will be when war matchups are within +-5 of war ratings regardless of prestige.

there will always be a downside.

that would result in low noob allies being crushed by allies that have just formed full of veteran players or low noob allies getting crushed buy allies full of veteran players who only play war occasionally and therefore have a low rating.

Probably. Thing is, unless the veteran alliance is planning to push up their war ratings (for future wars), the war rewards from the same tier as noob alliances don’t mean much to them. So it’s possible, but not likely.

Also, for alliances as such, they’ll rise up in ratings pretty fast (probably in a season or 2) and all these mismatches will be a thing of the past as everyone float to their equilibrium war ratings.

The war ratings the same so what’s the problem? If you want easy wars then you need to accept that you don’t deserve plat 4 rewards either.
If you can’t beat this opponent you don’t deserve the rewards, it’s that simple. Matching based on prestige makes it unfair for alliances like the one you’re up against as they’ll be aiming for the same rewards as you but have to put in much, much more effort.

I do seem to find that towards the end of the season matchups get harder and harder but idk if that’s a coincidence. Like about 3 seasons in a row it’s been easy/fair matchups up until the last 2/3 wars of the season. Other than that whilst there are anomalies for the most part I’ve seen a great improvement recently
