I was looking forward to spending, giving my account a nice boost that I would otherwise have to work many months for. But I don't know currently. At one hand I still want to, I don't want to miss out.
But the way they handled season19 after giving me so much hope, it just demotivated me this last week. I've only been opening the game for obligated alliance stuff. I feel bad spending a lot of money on something that is not bringing me joy at the moment. Maybe when all of the changes in the road maps start to get implemented I find my enthusiasm again, but at the moment July 4th comes at a bad moment for me, and I'm probably gonna let it pass this year.
Now the next question is, who will be spending that say they won't? Lol. Honestly though, not sure yet. It depends on what's offered and what I need or have. I'm not opposed to it. I had to talk myself down from the Legendary Nexus.
I will not be spending or playing due to the AW changes that were recently rolled out. Going to snap the last screen of this war and call it for the season. Karam will not be getting any money from me.
Legendary nexus is trash. Only focusing on 6 stars now.
5*s aren't outdated. To be honest, if it came with 6* Shards, I would have. Legendary Crystals have been good to me. Guillotine 2099, Sparkles.
I'm not against legendary crystals in theory, but they ALWAYS price them as though they were actual 5* crystals. It's just not worth the 80% chance of getting a 4*.

I suppose when pricing, you have to assume that the buyer gets Top Prize. Otherwise you potentially undervalue your product.
I used to spend alot on this game have basically gone to f2p after the pandemic started. I was basically planning to be f2p except for July 4th. I am planning on spending on july4th only if the rest of the road map is of same quality as the story quest improvements (ie that aq and aw monday update better be decent) and if the deals are really good.
The ships sinking fast... Wouldn't put another dime in to this game with the way things are going. Agree on the road map being a way to try and get us to stay aboard but it's not happening, we've had so many empty promises in the past and this is just another load of it. We see through it this time.

It's also a Nexus Legendary so, odds are different.
Not that I expect Kabam to worry about my participation, but low spend, if at all.
The game feels a bit of a mess right now. Lots of neat promises, sure, but also long lead times to meaningful change and things like AW are much worse in my opinion. Even announcements about possible changes get delayed.
I’m at a decision point on whether I want to push to do certain content or just sit, and just sit feels about right. I have most champs I need save Doom and really just play AQ and EQ for rankup materials. My 6* slate is about 3-4 champs I use somewhat and 20ish I don’t.
What would entice me to consider spending more? Things that likely won’t be in any reasonable deals or at all—6* Nexus, generic R4->R5 gems, R1->R2 gems, T5c.
Even something like 10K 6* shards in an Odin pack (I know—highly unlikely) probably wouldn’t be enough—the sheer volume of lunkers in the pool all but ensures pRNG leaves you at the altar.
It’s weird, because the July 4 deals have always been exciting. Hard for me to drum up a thrill right now.
No, of course not. I spent last 3 4thjuly/Cyber Monday. No more, spending in a broke game, really bad idea. This year my $500 reserved, PlayStation/Xbox. Thank kabam for open my eyes
I’m probably gonna spend my usual amount, which is 450, but if they have t4cc selectors in the five dollar deals, I’ll get those too. I’m hoping for t5cc fragment selectors in the Odins (hoping for a twenty-five percent selector, would be perfect) but I won’t be buying any of the unit deals since I’m largely only buying this year because I need the units to 100% Abyss. I could do it ftp, but I want to get it done by the end of the month rather than the end of the year. Plus, I like to support Kabam when I can since I love this game.
I would spend for cash offer: Only if i would get 6* sig stones, 6* nexus crystals, 25% selector t5c
I would spend in unit offer : 1.000 & 4.000 deal only if the rewards was at the same level as a first pass on the abyss (otherwise i would hold for abyss). The 15.000 total units (+3.000 ?) only if the rewards was better than exploring 100% abyss that means 6* nexus class, 6* shards, t5cc x 2. Otherwise i would use those 18.000 for abyss 100%.
I would buy the units , for the units only if they announce that THOR IW or Thanos Endgame is coming to the game. Otherwise, no more cavaliers for unknown champs.
I will have to choose between 1st clear of abyss or those cash deals and units deal. Already at 10K units so no need to buy anything. If there is not a full T5CC, a 6* awakening gem or something like a 5* selector (hello Aegon, still witing for you), i won't buy.
I have spent plenty in the past on holiday deals but it’s highly unlikely that I’ll spend this year unless I see a quick response to fixing AW. It’s just my small way of saying “enough already.” I’m just one customer, but I suspect there are many more like me that will let their wallets do the talking.
I’m not spending anything until I see this game is definitely heading in a good direction.
Even then, there’s a handful of champs that would make a meaningful difference to my roster and I have a tonne of resources stashed for them so what would I spend on?
Pretty much a massive stash of sig stones or some super targeted champ acquisition crystals is the only thing i can see tempting me.
I do agree with the roadmap as a way to drum up buisness.. they had a long time to tell us about the changes but only released it going into july 4th. Doesn't give us anytime to see if they can actually implement the changes they are describing correctly before we spend on 7/4. While what they said was nice about the story/quests (without devulging specifics), they at the same time released specific information on season 19 of aw in terms of nodes/def tactics/poor rewards for the middle class of aw( maj of alliances), which makes me think they haven't learned a thing. It does not give me hope that they will be able to follow throw on the roadmap they have released so far. I dont want to spend money in this game if it keeps being the same as it was.
I might spend but it will be the last time if they don't follow through with the roadmap. Its been the first year I am really thinking if I want to spend and it will be the last if things don't change correctly.
They failed to deliver on their Roadmap dev diary timeline...it might seem like a minor thing to a lot of people, but I personally see that as a major red flag. Can't even deliver on something meant to hype up an already demoralized community prior to what is usually a massive sale/spending time?
What kind of amateurish half-assed work is that?
They failed because CCP told them to fix certain things on the alliance roadmap before releasing it. That's not failing to meet a timeline lol
They failed because, yet again, they try and do the bare minimum. They keep upping the rewards only after an outcry because they are paltry and fail to scale with difficulty or keep up with the game. Same with AW, they had a chance to make a real difference and failed to deliver.
Outside of the monthly unit card the offers have been pretty bad for 2020.
All of these things combined has me nervous about the July 4 offers. I wasn’t overly excited about the “leak” but if the real offers are worse than that I will likely go f2p and use my 16k units on 100% abyss.
This is coming from a guy who bought the $20 3* OG DP when it first came out.
Personally, Nope. They haven’t addressed the crystals and champion acquisition. I already stopped the $5 monthly unit subscription. If they don’t have any reasonable solution to the massive RNG that only gets worse with each month then I’m gone. I’d slowly wean myself, already doing that by not playing arena. Hardly completing monthly EQ (only uncollected). Once that PS5 comes out I’d definitely be gone.
No more spending money on this game. Spent *dont wanna talk about it* dollars on this game and stopped spending since feb after some pulls and game changes. And all I got is trash from crystals after I stopped spending, which gave me strong reason not to spend anymore. I even stopped sigil from last 3 months. As many mentioned, game is on downslide and I wish Kabam get those roadmap changes as soon as possible.
I’m pretty pissed off about the direction alliance war is going, that’s a tough patch to discuss. The nodes are terrible, the stress folks get from it, the broken system. Basically war is what drives me down a do I want to slow down path.
The new events, story, arena and the friends I’ve made drive me to continue playing.
I am excited about the road map, it should help but there were things that I wanted to see on the map that I didn’t get to see. Especially a timeline, they said before book 2 in December. That’s cool and all but that also means tomorrow June 29th all the way through November 30th.
Delaying all the other devs book isn’t a salty subject to me. I am glad they are working on war and then the dev notes. That’s a plus in my book.
As for spending I’m not a huge spender; big weekends 20 here 30 there. I will see what Tony’s briefcase will contain and decide from there. If I like it sure I’ll get 1. If I don’t then there is always cyber deals.
