Abomination special 2

I think there are 2 issues with Abomination's special 2.
(1) I always get hit by the first part of the special 2. But this has only been happening recently. I used to always evade it easily.
(2) The 2nd part of the special 2 never connects. Even though I've been struck with the first part of the special 2, I never get hit by the 2nd part.
I've seen this happen in regular quests and AQ (and possibly arena?).
