War rating and new tier Explanations

We hope to get a more understanding on how did the new tiers got settled. Before the cutoff my ally had a rating of 2710 and we were playing tier 3 and tier 4 wars. After the new calculation we are now in tier 5!
We was planing to go for platinum 3 this coming season but if you took a tier away from us will be very difficult
First thing was tier 3 after the 50% war rating reduction
After half hour we dropped to tier 10
Later on we are in tier 5
