Are you intercepting or phase attacking? Do you have a video? The phase attack only has a small window on the first attack of the defender (the dash attack) to be counted as an intercept
do you have a video? Again the window to phase intercept is very tight, otherwise you are just phase attacking and the counter will go up.
It's actually not very tight. It doesn't even matter if you don't get hit while you're phasing, you just need to land a successful hit while you have the crit charge up. I bet OP's phase intercepting and then throwing another couple hits against an opponent that evades. If Ghost gets evaded, she gains another crit charge.

It wasnt until 1:04 when they are able to actually do a phased intercept. then immediately after they got another charge and multiple attempts at phased intercept does not work until 1:35.
That does not appear to be your video but one someone else made almost a year ago. Also look what happens at 1:33 in the video when he is actually talking about intercepting, the first phase intercept did not work because its timing was not perfect enough., his second worked though.
in the video you sent me you are attacking to slowly for the phased intercept to work. You can even see that intercepts ARE working at the 1:16 mark when you perform a normal intercept and it removed 2 charges.

In the video of lord shadow it only works for him some times because of the window to get it down. I mention that above that he only gets it right about 1/3 of the time.

Again, that type of intercept is not super easy.
