Signature Stones why do only some work ?

I feel I completely understand how signature stones work, until I can't use them on rightful champions... For an example I have 15 (4 star) SKILL sig stones & I have 6 (4 Star) SKILL Champs & in inventory when I click on it it says no champs for this and if I go to upgrade champs and click on each one the "use item" button is not highlighted or pressable, also in most all other catagorys only one or two out of right will appear or available for sig stone, so I keep just loading up the only one it displays....??? Can somebody enlighten me on this mystery with some insight.. I would appreciate it thanks

They have to be awakened and not max sig, if you have awakened 4 star skill champs that aren’t sig 99 and the stones aren’t able to be used then it’s a bug

Lvernon explained how they work but if you show us who you are trying to use them on, we can explain further.

If your champs aren't awakened you can't use sig stones on them. Look for the white stars.
