Is the Discussion About AW Defense Tactics Over?
We’ve now played a (partial) AW season and 1 week of the offseason with the Stubborn defense tactic, and I have not seen much if any discussion about Stubborn or defense tactics in general. I don’t know if Kabam has simply beat Tier 5 and above alliances into submission and we’ve reached the acceptance stage, or if we’re just apathetic, or if we think everything with AW is perfect. I tend to fall somewhere between forced acceptance and apathy.
My personal opinion about defense tactics is that the system is still broken. Has any alliance seen any tactic other than Flow or Stubborn during the most recent season or the offseason? What are the other tactics... let me look those up... oh yeah... Bulwark, Siphon, and Protect. I strongly suspect the answer is “no.” What is the point of having 5 tactics if only 2 are used? Does that not prove that those 2 tactics are overpowered? And how does that meet any of Kabam’s stated objectives about the purpose of defense tactics?
I know Kabam has the data about tactics usage. If some sort of additional nerf of Stubborn and Flow were forthcoming, I think it would have been announced by now. I think our silence has sent the message that all is well in AW and I don’t really think that’s the case.
