The mid-low tier AW rewards do need buffed, but not the ones that people want. It should be a flood of 3* and 4* shards. They will still benefit a lot from the increased roster, Iso, etc, but it's not a free ride to 5* and 6* directly.
I'm in a silver 2 alliance, where most people are pushing for UC. I don't see how any amount of 3* shards helps someone in that position. I'd agree adding a huge amount of 5* and any 6* shards would be too much (think the highest I'd agree with is 5k 5*s for silver 1), but 3* shards should really be reserved for the lowest tiers, since they give almost no iso for dupes and are abundant even in act 3, and anybody in those tiers doesn't need them (every alliance we face under the new matchmaking has a mix of 4 and 5 stars, and I'd assume most are at a similar progression point to us). I'd be all for adding some more 4* shards to the mid tiers though, the iso would be beneficial, and ideally some t1as would be good (I find it strange no tier has these, yet we get t2a fragments that aren't as useful at this progression point).
I'm in a gold 3 ally and I agree with you when I was pushing for UC and was in a silver 1 ally that you didn't need T2A and needed more T1A but 5000 5 star shards is so unreasonable dude. You should be able to get through UC with max 4 stars just fine you don't need 5 stars and once you get UC you probably won't push for Act 5 because of the gates like I did so you won't need that much 5 star shards. But you'll see when you want to r4 a 5 star you will need the T2A.
Honestly I agree at this stage max 4*s are all you need but you already get 3.5k in silver 1, I don't think adding 15% of a 5* every month is too unreasonable, especially considering they gave a 5* away to people who hadn't even finished act 4 (correct me if I'm wrong here) cause of the server issues a few weeks ago. It's not like there's a huge difference between a max 4* and a r3 5* (getting r4 is unfeasible to get unless you spend 4 months waiting for the T2A from silver 1 AW rewards before you get UC), so it's hardly gamebreaking to buff the rewards. Personally I think they're fine as is (except from the complete lack of T1A, which I find more odd than anything else, I don't really mind spending glory on them at this point at least), and certainly don't expect to be getting 5k 5* shards for the minimal effort keeping silver is, but I wouldn't object to an overall increase in the number of shards unless it went beyond that point. Mainly my post was aimed at that guy thinking 3*s are in any way useful to silver players, which I don't think you disagree with.
